Chin Check - 331 - (UFC Freedom 250 Preview)
Some times its not about this side or that side, this belief or that one, its the occasion, the precedent of the situation. And Sunday night is the most of situations, it's HISTORY, the UFC on the White House south lawn will be in the annals like season one, The Ultimate Fighter Finale, UFC 100, UFC 200, UFC 300, UFC Sphere. This is a "where did you watch the card" moments.
So with all that, something different HAD to happen, right. And conversation is greatest when shared, so I sent out the CC Signal, and one of the kindest, most supportive people in the game through. And the great Cody Merrow just brought the perfect energy & enthusiasm for our deep dive into the card. We went over the tangibles and the in-tangibles of the occasion. Like who's ready for the pressure, the spotlight, will this moment affect the decisions of the Ref. Everything is considered, every angle approached!
We've only got seven fights, BUT, these are fights that carry so much. Ascendence in a division, potential title ramifications, and backing up BIG claims! Chin Check - 323 (UFC 328 Preview)
The UFCs next 'Numbered Event' is coming at us Saturday night from the Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey, and it is something f'sure! We have Khamzat Chimaev defending his belt for the first time against Sean Strickland. And that's just one of a stack of incredible match-ups!
One of those match-ups is another title fight. As Joshua Van is also making his first title defence against Tatsuro Taira. Man, this is one hell of a card. No debuts, we just got a murders row all the way through (essentially). In the second fight of the night, you have Baisangur Susurkaev going against Djorden Santos, then right after that Pat Sabatini against William Gomis, right into Roman Kopylov vs Marco Tulio, and that's just the 'Early Prelims'! The 'Prelims' proper opens with Jim Miller against Jared Gordon, then Grant Dawson against Mateusz Rębecki and Joel Álvarez vs Yaroslav Amosov! King Green vs Jeremy Stephens open the 'Main Card', followed by Sean Brady against Joaquin Buckley. Which could be a main event of a 'Fight Night', right? With Alexander Volkov against Waldo Cortes-Acosta fighting for a potential future title shot. And after everything Volkov has said recently, you know he's gonna want to show & prove!?!

Chin Check - 316 (UFC 327 Recap)
DAMN, it's all done, the UFC took over Miami, and yo, what a great night, right, we had some incredible fights! It's the fourth numbered event of the year, and it was not a disappointment!!!
We lost fights leading up to the show, BUT, what we got, 12 lit fights....well, on the real, 11 great fights. Even though one was a stinker, the Headliner, DAMN, and Co-main were fire too. Yo, this was great, this was great, people!.

There's been a LOT of talk about the start of the Paramount Era and whether the cards have been legit. Regardless where you stand on this, there is NO question that any sensible Floridian will be hot stepping to Miami's Kaseya Center, cause the 'UFC' is coming in with fire this weekend!
We may have lost the Flyweight Title fight, but damn, this card is jam packed with name recognition fighters! I mean, the 'Prelims' could be a 'Main Card' anywhere else (especially Netflix)! Opening up with Tatiana Suarez vs Loopy Godinez, and topping with Patrício Pitbull vs Aaron Pico, damn!!! There are a LOT of questions too, can Cub Swanson bookend his career in that perfect way, can Pico reach the potential many have put on his shoulders, will Chris Padilla, MarQuel Mederos or Azamat Murzakanov be the next break out star, can Suarez, Dominick Reyes, and Paulo Costa get back to the title picture!?!

Chin Check - 305 (UFC 326 Preview)
Saturday night is 'Fight Night', and it promises high-octane action and nail-biting drama as we head back to Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena.
On the night we have a stack of incredible fights (Don't listen to Dan Hardy!), there's a LOT on the line. We have a couple of debuts, some fighters potentially fighting for their tenure on the roster. There are veterans trying to show they still have it, and young guns looking to take that shine! We also have TWO re-matches, Robocop goes at The Hulk again, and then the Headline bout!!!

After its recent globetrotting antics, the 'UFC' has come back home, to the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas for the first of TWO October PPVs!
With two debuts on a stacked card of 14 fights, this card has an abundance of "oh damn!" throughout! Standouts on the 'Early Prelims' are Chris Gutiérrez vs Farid Basharat & Ramiz Brahimaj vs Austin Vanderford. On the 'Prelims' proper you have Edmen Shahbazyan vs André Muniz & Patchy Mix vs Jakub Wikłacz. And the 'Main Cards' featured bout, Jiří Procházka vs Khalil Rountree Jr could headline it's own card!!!

We said questions would be answered after 'UFC 319', and holy moly, they were answered ten fold!!!
Similar to 'UFC on ESPN 52' back in December 2023, we had back-to-back explosive finishes, BUT this time around there was more significance behind them. An 'Ultimate Fighter' champion was crowned, a number one contender was ordained and everybody wants to be a nerd!

Now, the pod had its worst week since 'UFC Vegas 103', BUT, what a night in New Orleans, people, so many finishes, so many fun fights. This was a card truly fitting a legends send off, and a BMF!!!

Holy camoly, even with one fight dropping off, 'UFC 317: Topuria vs Oliveira' was a night for the books!!!
Coming from Baku, where there were only two finishes, to Vegas, where we have six, AND the decisions were exciting too! So many fighters on the card made HUGE statements on their potential, what's next, or just the fact that they're still contenders. It was most definitely an event fitting of 'International Fight Week'!!!
Not only did we end the night with a 'And Still' and a 'And New', but we also went 7 - 4!!!! So now, we get to relive all the excitement of 'UFC 317' with @ChinCheckPod (ep 254), "What A Rush"!!!!
