It definitely feels like the perfect time to get into some mythology tinged stories with @EchoChamberFP this week, and the PR GOAT AJ Feuerman is to thank!!!
So with 'Part TWO', a mother & daughter team have worked to bring a South Asian story to the screen that is seeded with folklore. They tapped a director with vision to help bring everything to life. And we end up with something that really is looking at that moral crossroad we can find ourselves at! THEN, we sit down with the director, and the lead actress who also served as one of the producers, to really get their insights into what fuels stories, desires and creativity!!!
'Mala' is the feature directorial debut from Trishul Thejasvi, and written by Nisha Sabharwal. The unexpected inheritance of a tropical island resort plunges Reema (Indigo Sabharwal) and her friends (Gisele George, Nirvan Patnaik, Nehru Sabharwal) into a world of tantric magic and dangerous secrets, where confronting the past is the only path to survival—and self-discovery.

Trishul Thejasvi began his career directing and shooting music videos with Reggae artists such as Jimmy Cliff, Maxi Priest, Beenie Man and Steel Pulse. In 2009 Thejasvi was selected and accepted into an exclusive directing course at Central Film School in London, where he was trained in the art of Acting for the Screen in London and New York by Patrick Tucker, Anna Strasberg and the schools of David Mamet, Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler and Konstantin Stanislavski. After moving from the UK to Sarasota, Trishul Thejasvi founded Orensis Films in 2012, working to independently produce narratives that return to the purest intentions of cinema: telling a great story, visually. Fluidly working in almost every field from pre-production through post, Thejasvi is an accomplished director whose numerous shorts have found great acclaim and numerous awards and nominations, including 'Loved,' 'Sophie Hates Me,' and 'The Sunny Side.' In 2015 he produced and photographed the award-winning feature film, 'Monty Comes Back', and is producing the upcoming documentary 'Dreadtown' narrated by Danny Glover.

Indigo Sabharwal has appeared in various Indian films and television shows. She gained recognition for her performances in regional cinema and is known for her versatile acting skills. Her work often reflects a mix of traditional and contemporary themes, appealing to a diverse audience. Her critically acclaimed debut feature film was Curry Scent where she played the lead role of Geetha. Her latest feature film, MALA, in which she stars and produced, was the first Indian film to host a panel at New York Comic Con. She has had the best of both worlds by attending Ringling College of Art & Design for two years and receiving her final B.C. from the University of Miami's Business of Film program.
