It's been six years since the last trip to the Chicago's United Center for the UFC with '238', and that night was capped off with two incredible fights! Saturday nights 'UFC 319: du Plessis vs Chimaev' brings with it the anticipation for another memorable PPV!
There has been a LOT of last minute changes to the card. The co-main changed, two fights dropped off due to injuries and one due pie consumption. However, we did gain a fight, all thanks to 'DWCS'! On Tuesday night Baysangur Susurkaev showed out, and we heard they were going to put he on the next available card. No one figured that would be Saturday, but now Susurkaev share's a card with his friend and teammate and faces the also debuting CFFC champ Eric Nolan!
We lost one, but an 'Ultimate Fighter' champion will still be crowned on the night, as flyweights, Alibi Idiris & Joseph Morales go out to rep their teams (Team Cormier & Team Sonnen) and fulfil their dreams!
In the 'Co-main' Aaron Pico finally makes it to the promotion! The standout wrestler, and Bellator hot prospect gets the spotlight, but is it eyes bigger than your belly. Cause he goes up against 'The Miracle' Lerone Murphy, who has been on a tear! 20 fights unbeaten, and every time he steps into the Octagon, he just gets better!!!
NOW, our 'Headline Fight', has got ALL the questions around it. Dricus du Plessis hasn't tasted defeat in the UFC, he's shown his metal, heart and the fortitude needed to be a Champion. But has he faced anyone like Khamzat Chimaev Also undefeated in the UFC, and across his entire career! He has run through virtually everyone, and after taking Whittaker's jaw, the question is, can he do that to the Champ!?!
