Monarch: Legacy of Monsters

Season One: Episodes One & Two

Apple TV's has entered the 'MonsterVerse' with Legendary Television's new series 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters'. It's a ten episode series, developed by Chris Black and Matt Fraction.

We looked at the first two episodes of the series, so you can judge if you want to submerge yourself into the world of the Titans even further!

Following the epic battle between Godzilla and the MUTOs that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, two siblings, following in their father's footsteps, uncover their family's connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw, taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga — spanning three generations — reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.

The episodes 1 & 2 are:

Directed by: Matt Shakman

Written by: Chris Black

Starring: Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski, Wyatt Russell, Kurt Russell, John Goodman, Takehiro Hira, Qyoko Kudo, Tamlyn Tomita, Christopher Heyerdahl

The Continental: From the World of John Wick: Season One - Poster

The Continental: From the World of John Wick

Season One

'The Continental' is a 'limited event' created by Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward and Shawn Simmons. It's a prequel that shifts the focus to the hotel where assassins feel safe to put down their weapons and relax. Albert Hughes set it off and anchored things, while Charlotte Brändström took care of the middle.

Over four films, 'John Wick' ingrained itself into peoples hearts. So expanding the universe sounded like a home run, right.

The series tells the background story of how Winston Scott, in an alternate history 1970s, came to his position as proprietor of the New York branch of "The Continental" chain of hotels, safe havens for legal assassins on the grounds of which no business may ever take place. It explores variations on real-world events, including the Winter of Discontent and the American Mafia's rise to economic power.

The episodes are:

Directed by: Albert Hughes, Charlotte Brändström

Written by: Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, Shawn Simmons, Ken Kristensen

Starring: Mel Gibson, Colin Woodell, Fflyn Edwards, Ben Robson, Ben Robinson, Nhung Kate, Mishel Prada, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Ayomide Adegun, Zainab Jah, Jeremy Bobb, Peter Greene, Adam Shapiro, Ray McKinnon, Katie McGrath, Kirk Ward, Mark Musashi, Marina Mazepa, Dan Li, Samuel Blenkin, Chris Ryman
